Like other DeMille protagonists, John Corey is pretty much an asshole, or at least tediously cocky, which detracts somewhat from the books. Still, the writing is engaging and the plotlines are interesting, so I keep reading :) It was pretty much what I expected, which is not a bad thing. Perfect for listening while I did the autumn yardwork.
