Sequel to Discount Armageddon, which should definitely be read first, and still a light-hearted fast-reading first-person narrative told by Verity Price, a snarky Buffy-type heroine with questionable taste in men and shoes. This time her on-again-off-again Dominic de Luca learns that more of the Covenant are coming to town to check up on him, and as Verity tries to warn the local cryptid population and prepare for their arrival, Dominic is finally forced to choose between the Covenant who raised and trained him and the Price family who abandoned the Covenant generations ago. Meanwhile the Covenant have an ulterior motive in coming to town and it's not good news for Verity and her cousin Sarah.

Another fairly mindless but fun romp through a hypothetical Manhattan filled with gorgons, dragons, and a whole host of other unnatural creatures and the humans who either hunt or protect them.
