The sequel to Airborn, and just as good if not better than the first. We rejoin Matt Cruse, who is now studying at the Airship Academy in Paris. Meanwhile Kate de Vries' discovery of the Cloud Cats has won her recognition in the scientific community and allowed her to study at university, coincidentally Paris where she can still talk to Matt every week or so. But when Matt goes on a shipboard training assignment on the Flotsam and sees the mythical lost Hyperion drifting at 20,000 feet (far out of normal airship range), Kate is determined to return and retrieve the lost ship and its scientific treasures. Along with the captain and crew of the Sagarmatha and the mysterious gypsy Nadira, Kate and Matt try and retrieve the ship and make their fortunes - but of course they aren't the only ones after the Hyperion and things are never quite as simple as they seem!
