Again, very much a kids' book, so simple reading. In this sequel to The Book of Three, Our Heroes (led by the prince) decide to go and try to capture the Black Cauldron from Arawn in order to destroy it so he can no longer create the Cauldron-Born zombie armies that he's using to try and take over the world.

Of course, the various parties get separated and it's up to Taran, Elionwy, Gurgi, Fflewdur Fflam, in other words all our favourites from the first book to actually get the cauldron. During this adventure they meet the three Fates (aka 3 old women on the edge of a swamp with a magic loom), a jealous noble, various dwarves, and more.
