@petconroy Based purely on the cover, I looked up Mordew to discover that the Guardian thought highly of it. Anything that has 'a strong flavour of Mervyn Peake, many touches of Michael Moorcock' gets my attention. And maps! @FardelsBear I've only just started it (this morning)... so I've only read about 30% of it so far. It may be a while. I liked the blurb when I read the back cover in Waterstones recently...
I tend to struggle with professional reviews. They either hype it too much for me, and I come away less than impressed - or they slate it, and I end up disagreeing...
I've enjoyed the little I've read so far, and I will review it when I finish :)
