Ronan Farrow: Catch and Kill (2019, Little, Brown and Company)

Review of 'Catch and Kill' on 'Goodreads'

Having read "She Said," which told of breaking the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault story by the reporting team at The NY Times, I expected "Catch & Kill" to be more of the same, but from the perspective of The New Yorker. Alas – this book was even more gripping.

I hadn't realized Farrow's story hit roadblocks and ultimately was punted by NBC. Nor that he was in semi-regular conversation with Matt Lauer before realizing that Lauer was also a predator. I also hadn't realized the lengths Weinstein went to threaten and intimidate his accusers (and Farrow). Nor did I know about the tabloid practice of "catch and kill."

In short: it was an education. A well-written and amusingly narrated (by Farrow on audiobook) story.
