This free selection on Audible confirmed that Patterson is not my jam. He's long on plot and short on character development. And I'm pretty sure this book would fail the Bechdel test... the protagonist's partner, his lawyer and even his psychologist all seem to be included in this book primarily as sexual distractions. Also: the protagonist does stand up comedy and none of his jokes were funny - and many of them were the equivalent of unoriginal knock knock jokes.
