Donna Leon: The Waters of Eternal Youth (Commissario Brunetti #25) (2016, Atlantic Monthly Press)

Review of 'The Waters of Eternal Youth (Commissario Brunetti #25)' on 'Goodreads'

Another book by Donna Leon was on a "best books" list that I stumbled upon a few weeks ago and I'd never heard of her, so when I learned that she had set more than two dozen mysteries in Venice - well, I had to check her out. (Since the first time I visited Venice, I thought it was DESIGNED for mysteries and couldn't understand how more books haven't been set there.)

Her writing felt restrained and old-fashioned, a bit formal like an Agatha Christie mystery. It's been so long since I've written anything of that flavor that I found it a bit refreshing because of how subdued it was. I'd like to read another of her books before I decide if I'm a fan, or if I'm just meh.
