I've been in a weird WWII phase lately, reading books that toggle between present day and WWI flashbacks - from a woman's perspective. The focus of this book is two sister who are sent to the English countryside to avoid the bombs in London - and a few key decisions end up impacting the arcs of their lives. It's not high-brow literature, but it's well-enough written that it keeps the pages turning to the end.
