Daniel H. Wilson: Amped (2012, Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group) 4 stars

Review of 'Amped' on 'Goodreads'

3 stars

A good, solid, if slightly short read. We have an 'everyman turned hero' plot here, as our protagonist Owen Gray becomes embroiled in the clash between normal humans ('reggies') and those with mind-enhancing 'amps'. Daniel Wilson makes sure that neither side is entirely caricatured as 'the good guys'.

The books has some nice plot twists - we're kept guessing nicely on one central point until very near the end.

In terms of style (though not plot details), this reminded me somewhat of 'Little Brother' by Cory Doctorow.
