4/5. It's hard to follow a debut novel like The Hate U Give, but On the Come Up is really solid. Thomas once again exposes the hypocrisy and inequality in our society, particularly when it comes to race and poverty. I enjoyed following Bri's story and was rooting for her to find her voice.
