You can see the ending coming a mile away, but before (and even after) that, this is a terrific period piece and exploration of the difficulties of life in a shitty economy. The characters are out for revenge on somebody who ruined their lives, but you as the reader see, even if in their bloodlust the characters really don't, what they want "back," which is a crap sandwich on crap bread and a bag of crap chips. Good story.
