While I agree with my sister on the framing (every time we took a break from Kvothe's story I was cursing the author for breaking the flow) and the foreshadowing felt a little heavy-handed at times, I loved the story and the characters. Kvothe is my kind of hero - clever, brash, eloquent, sometimes arrogant and deeply emotional.

I can't wait to read the next one.
