Raymond E. Feist: Magician: Master (Paperback, 1993, Spectra) 4 stars

Review of 'Magician' on 'Goodreads'

5 stars

I really enjoy Feist's writing. While some of the narrative jumps can be jarring, enough so that I can see when the Author's Preferred Edition splits the story into two books, I feel like the "And some people were fighting and it seemed hopeless" carries more meaning than if he were to give a blow-by-blow of every fight between Midkemia and Kelewan.

I really enjoy Feist's take on the classic "poor orphan becomes great hero" story trope. It was extremely well done.
