Overall the book was OK, not more. The writing was too cliche, which I usually don't mind. In this one, however, I just couldn't get over a few things. Europeans are constantly derided, the protagonist is a murdering monster and the attempts of making him somewhat likeable are too clumsy and obvious. I was looking for a book like this, too bad it just missed my taste. As per my usual recommendation, I'd say this book is a gamble. It's definitely not the high-point of the genre, but it's also not the worst.
