What an incredible worldbuilding and story so far, I cant wait to read the second book!
Part of this book reminds me of Paksenarion, the whole warcamp moral stuff and that this book has a lot of moments of raw perfection like the whole of Paksenarion has it. The Way of Kings is a brilliant work of art for the soul and, I think, will be a story of justice and honor too!

3.3 stars from me.
This third book is much better than the first two and I enjoyed reading it; for the most part.
I didnt like the ending and the way the story seems to be steering. The whole Qall being the new Raen and how hes behaved around Rielle being a sulky brat who wont listen and then just leaves her there on a dead planet, and her being a pushover afterwards, really annoyed me.
There is still time to turn the story the way I feel like it should go and have been hoping for, that the real Raen will return. I dont like the Qall boy at all.
Why did Dahli have to vanish like that, no, I hated that. Ulma killed? Yes why not, lets just kill left and right because it will give the readers some shock action even tho the outcome was bad.

Why did Rielle not choose to be ageles for the fight itself lol? Since she can apaprently switch back and forth, its completely ridiculous that she wouldnt do that, and only be a Maker when you have the need for it, after the fight and later on when creating magic where needed. I facepalmed so much at that.
There is not enough detail and story on the areas that I wish there was, that could make the story sooo much better. Its being fast forwarded too much in some places, where Im left daydreaming the in betweens and what ifs.
The amount of spelling errors and wrong words used (like change instead of chance..) are like vomit on a painting the painter paints with his brush, its disgusting and ruins the artwork, and its slack. 1 star less for this reason alone from me.
Alas! Much better book than the first 2, except the ending. And even tho what you cant wait to see happen after you read book 2 and what you think will happen, or ought to happen, when it doesnt, its still a good story.
But heres to hoping for a great 4th book, that I cant wait to read!

As always Bartimaeus's footnotes are hilarious and crack me up! The book is good but a little jumpy and skippy, I wish there had been more in betweens.
The ending is disapointing though. Such a big build up and then its like the balloon just deflates before its even inflated. After the fight its a very abrubt ending with rushed info on what and where. I would have loved much more story here. Theres also no afterstory about the whole plan to end the demon slavery, it seems they just keep using imps after that, or will continue to, to some xtend.
Also where was that huge awsome battle with demons on the commmoners side against the magicians that Kitty wanted, and the story led up to at some point? Its like the author gave up on that cause it would mean too many xtra words? :o

All in all a series I can highly recomend, because its very different from our usual magic and because Bartimaeus is just so brilliant and hilarious! Really want to read the prequel too.

Bartimious' comments are just so hilarious it cracks me up. I do hope we will like Mandrake a little more in the next book, right now I understand Bartimious' desire to kill him with the way he is acting like the arogant power hungry brat, but you can see he has felt what its like to be on the other side a little more now. Cant wait to read the next book!

Witty and unique great story. The footnotes are hilarious and just epic comentary. A hint of the Harry Potter world but yet not; its entirely its own story!
