What an incredible worldbuilding and story so far, I cant wait to read the second book!
Part of this book reminds me of Paksenarion, the whole warcamp moral stuff and that this book has a lot of moments of raw perfection like the whole of Paksenarion has it. The Way of Kings is a brilliant work of art for the soul and, I think, will be a story of justice and honor too!

3.3 stars from me.
This third book is much better than the first two and I enjoyed reading it; for the most part.

I didnt like the ending and the way the story seems to be steering. The whole Qall being the new Raen and how hes behaved around Rielle being a sulky brat who wont listen and then just leaves her there on a dead planet, and her being a pushover afterwards, really annoyed me.
There is still time to turn the story the way I feel like it should go and have been hoping for, that the real Raen will return. I dont like the Qall boy at all.
Why did Dahli have to vanish like that, no, I hated that. Ulma killed? Yes why not, lets just kill left and right because it will give the readers some shock action even tho the outcome was bad.

reviewed Ptolemy's Gate by Jonathan Stroud (The Bartimaeus trilogy ;)

As always Bartimaeus's footnotes are hilarious and crack me up! The book is good but a little jumpy and skippy, I wish there had been more in betweens.

The ending is disapointing though. Such a big build up and then its like the balloon just deflates before its even inflated. After the fight its a very abrubt ending with rushed info on what and where. I would have loved much more story here. Theres also no afterstory about the whole plan to end the demon slavery, it seems they just keep using imps after that, or will continue to, to some xtend.
Also where was that huge awsome battle with demons on the commmoners side against the magicians that Kitty wanted, and the story led up to at some point? Its like the author gave up on that cause it would mean too many xtra words? :o

All in all …

Bartimious' comments are just so hilarious it cracks me up. I do hope we will like Mandrake a little more in the next book, right now I understand Bartimious' desire to kill him with the way he is acting like the arogant power hungry brat, but you can see he has felt what its like to be on the other side a little more now. Cant wait to read the next book!
