What a great read, fantastic imagination by the author and a plot that kept me guessing where it would all end. I found myself rooting for the main characters as the story unfolds.  Enjoyed every page. This book works as a stand alone despite being the second in a series as there are a few references to it but not enough to cause an issue with the plot. Onto the next one...
