A little tour of the current hygiene industry and our largest organ. It's a light read that moves around a lot, which kept my attention throughout. There's some good discussion about our skin's microbiome and proper immune system exposure, before the book moves into the skincare industry and many of our normal hygiene habits. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the book is inconclusive. Maybe you finish with a different outlook towards your skin, but there's hardly any solid evidence or actionable recommendations in here. I got nervous when Hamblin met with the CEO of my treasured Dr. Bronner's soap, thinking he might uncover something scandalous about the product. But like most of the book, no conclusions were drawn from the experience.
