Now that I've read a few of her books, I know this one is written in her standard style, cheeky and irrevent (somewhat similar to Sarah Vowell), relishing the grossness of her subject (another book is titled Slime), and little bit offputtingly like a travel diary minus the selfies, nevertheless a vivid depiction (I will always be careful of drinking hot soup from now on) of the science and its history about what's going on in your digestive system.
