What started out with exciting potential for some cool and clever explanation for the central paradox of the story, eventually and disappointingly reveals itself as a cheap and unsurprising forfeit to the supernatural. As always King writes rivetingly and keeps you engaged even when the end is painfully clear. If you love the X-files you’ll love this.
