Review of 'The origin of others' on 'Goodreads'

I need to stop reading "books" that are really just the texts of lectures. I find it very frustrating to only touch on big ideas without exploring them deeply. Of course Toni Morrison's ideas are prodigious, but just as when I read Mary Beard's Women and Power, I left wanting more and knowing that I wouldn't get it. I still rated this 4 stars, but it's precisely because I value Morrison's insights that I am so disappointed with the book.
