I've Got A Theory...

After reading this, the second book in the Cinder Spires series, I have a fan theory / head canon:
These books are sequels to Stephen King's "The Mist."
No really, he even drops some references like "humanity, huddled in our dark towers." The story reall is what you get if you ask "What if, after the events of the Mist, the surviving humans rebuilt a steampunk civilization with magic airships and uplifted cats."
Anyway...
Butcher is an EXCELLENT storyteller. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is his well documented penchant for sexualizing every female character he writes. He seems to have doubled down on it in this book.
