Finished tonight, but in no way ready to write a review. What a heavy book.

I was annoyed throughout the book by the confusing maze of the hospital, the constant small frustrations and almost comedic failures like the endless phone tag and trying to avoid Mandrake, but then i started to see the reflection in the NDEs and especially Joanna’s actual DE and realized the author might be trying to make a point there. That life is dying, that we know it, and much of life is a confused and frantic mix of attempted avoidance and denial.
