Great book, simultaneously uplifting and depressing. After reading this, I can't help but think that we really suck as a species; it's amazing how badly we've fucked up the planet. But it helps knowing that life will continue - in some form or another - after we're gone, and that there are still things we can do to (slightly) mitigate the damage.
