I only finished it because it was for a book group. I skimmed once I couldn't take it any more.
Plodding prose that provides more description than you really want.
Convoluted, soap-opera-esque plot lines.
Magical abilities imputed to hypnosis, and a character who has been near-death, with massive blood loss and injuries, springs out of a hospital bed to run away.
