This has all the pleasures of a Hiaasen book - suspense, crazy plot turns, humor. As usual, the developers are the Bad Guys, which is just fine with me.
What I found jarring in this one was the action that takes place in the Bahamas, where several local characters are played for laughs. He mocks most everyone, so maybe this is equal-opportunity, but I felt uncomfortable the Neville character's "naive fool" quality and the rapacious Voodoo Queen.
