Opens as a funny adventure story, then turns into a why-can't-we-all-get-along and environmental story. Still stays fast paced, with lots of humor. The demons don't seem quite demon-ey enough. I like the narrator Smith, who is trying to retire from being an assassin. I also like the (unrelated) Mrs. Smith, an excellent cook who is also a dab hand with weapons.
