This absolute idiot read this entire book with a general air of... confusement :) I kept thinking how so many characters and events were talked about as if we'd already heard their stories, even though I had no memory of them. I figured the author was just trying to make it seem like a lot had happened in the past 10 years since Morning Star and sort of keeping us on our toes, but I still felt like I was missing something.

Turns out I was! I got to the end and saw the list of books in the series, and realized I'd somehow completely skipped Iron Gold. Despite all that, I still really enjoyed this one, so kudos for that. I'm going to now immediately jump into Iron Gold, though I'm bummed that I've probably already spoiled everything in it for myself.

At least there'll be a 6th book to make everything right again :)
