I have never actively watched Star Trek and first encountered him as Sheldon's nemesis on Big Bang theory. So for me many of the Star Trek references lead to searches on IMDB/Wikipedia. I still enjoyed reading this book that came with the latest humble bundle. In it Wil Wheaton describes his struggles to come to terms with his early fame after growing up and being only famous for once having been famous.
