Objectively this appears to be a good story. The concept of a society that denies the self is interesting and well executed. I just never warmed to the narrator Kindall and had a hard time not being bored by the story. Maybe because there were no surprises, the plot was laid out from the beginning and too much revealed in the foreshadowing.
