Review of 'Semiosis (Semiosis Duology, #1)' on 'Goodreads'

Semiosis spoke to me on many levels.

As a member of an Israeli Kibbutz. It was interesting to see a group of ideological people trying to set up their utopia.

As a left leaning peacenik. I was impressed by the commitment to pacifist ideals in the face of a hostile environment.

As a history major. I enjoyed the generation hopping structure of the novel.

As a Sci-Fi fan. I enjoyed the different emphasis in each chapter. Covering many Sci-Fi tropes in one novel.

And on all of these levels Burke did not disappoint. The ideology was a struggle to maintain, the jump between generations came with a different sci-fi trope that kept things fresh.

I couldn't put this book down.
