My younger son is a great fan of [a:Terry Pratchett|1654|Terry Pratchett|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1235562205p2/1654.jpg], so I bought this book as a birthday present for him, and when he finished he passed it back to me to read. Terry Pratchett is not my cup of tea, and the only one of his Discworld books I've tried to read I never managedf to finish. But I have enjoyed books by [a:Neil Gaiman|1221698|Neil Gaiman|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1234150163p2/1221698.jpg], and I quite enjoyed this one.

Good Omens is one of my absolute favourites. Combining the wits of two of the best English authors around, it is both funny, clever and interesting, and one of the few books I've read multiple times.

Both Terry and Neil have developed a lot since this book was written, over 20 years ago now! What I love about their writing is their abilities to tell great stories. I feel with Good Omens, it's more about the puns than the story, which was a bit predictable. Had I read the book during my teenage years, I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more however it all felt a bit dated. Some moments are timeless, like the kids playing at the Spanish Inquisition which I thought was priceless and true laugh out loud funny! Terry's trademark footnotes were targeted at American translations which also made me smile.
