Novela corta, que bien podría ser una obra de teatro (casi todo son diálogos, en unas pocas escenas), tragedia en la que la pobreza y la fatalidad predominan desde la primera página hasta la última. Me ha gustado mucho el estilo, la forma de hablar de los jornaleros de la California de la Gran Depresión.
