By the end of this book, any reader will have learned how to harness the power of the Internet to make their entrepreneurial dreams come true. Step by step, CRUSH IT! is the ultimate driver's manual for modern business. Gary Vaynerchuk has captured attention with his pioneering, multi-faceted approach to personal branding and business. After primarily utilizing traditional advertising techniques to build his family's local retail wine business into a national industry leader, Gary rapidly leveraged social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook to promote Wine Library TV, tv.winelibrary.com, his video blog about wine. Gary has always had an early-to-market approach, launching Wine Library's retail website in 1997 and Wine Library TV in February of 2006. His lessons on social media, passion, transparency, and reactionary business are not to be missed!"--Provided by publisher.
I like Gary and His sassyness. I like his go get it attitude. But I think he is playing it to low when I say you need to be too 10 to go after your dream. There are room for 1000nds of Gary winelords around the world doing about the same thing.
If you are thinking of taking a leap in to your dream business go with this book or his follow-up crushing it, the worst thing that could be happening is doing what you love.
I'm about 70% thru as I write this and am really impressed. I'm always kinda torn when it comes to Gary V. Sometimes he's really inspirational as an entrepreneur, and sometimes I just wanna sock him, and most of the time I don't pay attention to him. BUT this book is pretty remarkable.
There's some internet 101, which I could do with out, but I suspect that part of the book isn't meant for me. The rest is quite interesting and really helps get the entrepreneurial juices flowing. I suspect anyone who reads his book and isn't doing what they love, will be leaving their jobs (good for the economy, those that want the work can get it and those that should be working on their passions will be) to follow Gary's words.
I consider this a business book, and have sworn those off in the last few years since …

I consider this a business book, and have sworn those off in the last few years since they're mostly lip service about how great the author is and how with hard work you too can be great, without ever actually offering advice. Gary offers advice.
