Written in what can only be described as dark, witty humour and what some may refer to as 'Kafka-esque.' Although there are similarities between Berhard's writing and Kafka's, I'd argue Bernhard's style has some key defining traits that are unique to it alone—mainly, the constant repetition carried out by the narrator—and bears a right to its own category rather than being defined by someone else's work.

Would recommend as a light read+want to read more of his work.

It's difficult to describe exactly what happens when you read these notes, then again it's completely obvious, you get sucked into a long stream of consciousness that isn't nearly as irredeemable as it appears on first encounter, but maybe it is as revolting as the author finds it, sometimes, or maybe it isn't?
