A dull dystopian fantasy about applications of blockchain technology that might change the world, without actually telling you how it works. Lots of words without really saying much, no technical details, the authors seem to think cryptography is some sort of magic.

I am biased on this one. I liked Don Tapscott's previous book, [b:Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything|154341|Wikinomics How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything|Don Tapscott|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1441388719s/154341.jpg|2457983]. I am also currently fascinated by the blockchain, and it's implications as a disruptive technology. So it was pretty obvious that I was going to like this book regardless. That being said, though, I would have liked it to be a bit deeper than a praise of the possibilities of this technology. It feels a bit like preaching to the choir. Nevertheless, I learned about new startups and approaches to the blockchain, and some of what the dreamers are planning to bring about with it. Read it if you are curious, and if you want to hear stories of blockchain startups. It does get a bit slow at points and your mind wanders, but overall, there's a good lot of information to be absorbed, processed and …
