Damned (Damned, #1)

This is a really clever story, I do find it amazing that somebody is able to come up with a story like this. It's also scary how easy Chuck manages to get inside the head of a 13 year old girl.

This reads a bit like a modern day version of Dante's Inferno crossed with a teenage girls diary.

The cast of characters in hell are good, very breakfast club feel to it. Archer is the best, at first I was expecting him to be a dick but he proved me wrong.

I am looking forward to the next cold caller that phones me so that I can discuss hell with them.

A brilliant quirky read that everybody should give a go.

I really enjoyed his odd references to [b:Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret|304917|Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret|Judy Blume|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1257293727s/304917.jpg|4121], Dante's Inferno, and The Breakfast Club. I barely finished his last book, and couldn't even get through the book before that, so I was pleasantly pleased by this one and laughed a lot, even though I am probably guilty of much of the hippie liberal thinking he seemed to be mocking.

Not up to snuff again for Chuck. Slow read, and it read just like a 13 year old girl condemning our society, so if that was the point, he made it. Not a lot of the biting sarcasm and wit that was in his previous novels.

The supporting character development plods a bit at the beginning, and they aren't really ever fully developed and he discards them for the second half of the novel. They only appear there as props.

A big disappointment for me, not sure I will continue to seek out his books and read them.
