Theodore Burnett has never been a hero. He prefers comfort to combat-spells, and jam-slathered scones to muddy boots. I started this to read and share with someone and I knew it wouldn't be my thing as I do not like fantasy or romance, but I wanted to go in with an open mind. Unfortunately, this book isn't very good regardless of subject matter. The writing is poor, repetitive, and uninteresting. As someone else pointed out, it tells rather than shows. The plot is tropey and implausible (pining and longing roughly 20 minutes after meeting).

I wanted to drop this after the first page (I'm sorry), but read through 3 or 4 chapters in order to be able to say I gave it a good shot, but that's all I can do. I'm out.

Sidenote: Some reviewers described Theo as having OCD, and it's a common misconception, but that's not what OCD actually is. (Also, sidenote to the sidenote, OCD is not a personality type.) Source: My OCD.
