Second volume of the Alice books. Again, there are references to the original, but again there is virtually nothing that links the two books. The heroine might just as well be called Millicent or Gwen. There is one of those bizarre love stories that fantasy authors seem to favour, in which the female partner is constantly threatened with violence by the male, but forgives him; in real life this is a recipe for tragedy - if there ever is a third tome, Alice is likely to have her throat cut by her bloodthirsty lover.

The author leaves several loose ends, so that third volume may well appear one day, even though there were only two of the original. If it does, I'll be rooting for the Jabberwocky.
