Princess Floralinda and the Forty-Flight Tower

Interesting spin on the trapped princess. Some very witty dialogue. The whole thing is unhealthy physically and emotionally from almost start to finish. The characters were true to themselves. Just painful to read the situation. Not my cup of tea.

As possible allegory or origin story might make a little more sense. Perhaps a reflection on the nature of marriage, beauty and upbringing. For the creation of a fae-wyld knight/champion this makes an evil kind of sense.

Charming novella. Think I would have appreciated it more at 14 than I do now, but definitely a fun afternoon read.

Muir, you glorious monster, you’ve done it again. Princess trapped in a tower trope done properly. Having just discovered there’s an audiobook with the same narrator as Gideon & Harrow, I’m going to re-consume this like a cunning paper orange.
