A convincing detective story but in trying to be a ghost story as well I felt that it didn’t really end properly. Unless I read it wrongly, it hints at supernatural elements and the presence of the goddess Kali, but never actually brings those out, nor does it dispense with the supernatural and be a straightforward tale of detection.
