Review of 'Trees for Gardens, Orchards, and Permaculture' on 'Goodreads'
5 stars
Much here is recycled information from Crawford's other publications. If you have already digested Creating A Forest Garden and intend to put it to use for agroforestry, you will find much of the same knowledge here. The species list is expanded and the information is collected on each species instead of spread around like in the other book, but I would really only recommend it to the nerds. Absolutely not "a must", like one often describes manuals like this. It is a delight to read, use as a reference tool and get inspired by though. As always the pictures are beautiful and illustrative. If I could wish something it would have been more useful data, e.g. on yield, nitrogen-fixation, nutrient tables etc.
