Review of 'What I Know About Running Coffee Shops' on 'Goodreads'
5 stars
I like coffee shops, but I have little interest in running one. But I like coffee shops. This book seemed as if it would be rather interesting, therefore, and it was.
I've never heard of Colin Harmon's coffee chain, 2FE in Dublin, but he explains the work involved in running coffee shops rather well, in a nice manner. I feel I understand these places rather more now, and how they earn their living. Particularly, the revelation that if you're really lucky, you might make 5% profit on them was a surprise.
A good read; notable for his wistful and possibly slightly regretful observation that he's now unable to actually serve behind the counter these days, because he doesn't know enough. Good thing.
