A very entertaining read with good characters, difficult theme issues, an adequate number of plot twists. Generally this first in the series, does a very good job of setting the table for further conflict, challenge and character development. Nice dystopian 'stuff'.

Started off amazing then just petered off after the first few chapters through silly to dull. Competently written, I finished it in the hopes it’d get gripping again, but nah. It’s short, & light (that is to say it’s not difficult to read; linear plot, simple English), maybe good holiday reading? Not good quarantine reading what with the whole deadly plague aspect, lol

This was a very entertaining book. It's my first Nora Robers read. She did a good job developing memorable characters and the plot is right in my wheelhouse. The sci-fi/fantasy concept usually makes me stop reading a book worked for me this time. I'll read the sequels for sure.
