An Unsuitable Job for a Woman is the title of a 1972 detective novel by P. D. James and of a TV series of four dramas developed from that novel. It features private detective Cordelia Gray, the protagonist of both this title and The Skull Beneath the Skin. Cordelia inherited a detective agency and from there took on her first case.

Review of 'An Unsuitable Job for a Woman' on 'Goodreads'

I think I'm going to be sad that this series is a short one. Cordelia is quite the spunky, young sleuth. The first tale in this brief series is clearly one motivated by humanism and compassion. The mystery and main characters are well portrayed and the plot is interesting. What else can you hope for???
