Malte reviewed Ethics by Alain Badiou
Review of 'Ethics' on 'Goodreads'
5 stars
Badiou is by far my favorite enemy to read. Probably because that enmity sits on a very specific place (I don't trust his ambivalence about the state and police). I don't think this part of his thinking colors everything else. There can be autonomy of parts in thinking. And almost everything else in Badiou I have big faith in.
This book is a great antidote to the moralism of today's left wing, a call for reinventing rather antiquated concepts like 'truth' and 'loyalty'. There is both tenderness and stead-fastness in this book which I could fantasize would become a spirit of a fierce movement one day.
