Oh, no! The author – who is quite open about writing being a job to get paid for – tried to make money with the way he publisht this!
Oh, no! The author ended a book in a long series with a cliff-hanger!
Anyway.
The single stories tie together closely, but not as closely as different chapters of a standard novel would.
And i accidentally started reading book 6 until i realized that i skipt book 5. That picks up where this ends.
And i likt the stories, and the writing. Solid space opera. More diplomacy and less fighting than, say, Old Man’s War (book 1). Still some action.
(Yu can skip part 10, but it contains my favorite deadpan quote, “[part 7] ends well for the dog, it just middles badly.”)
