Review of 'Oreo' on 'Goodreads'

This book should be on canons of books. Christine is half Jewish, half Black, and goes out into the world to find her Jewish father, setting the stage for more of a situational comedy with very deep messaging on race and also feminism, but chock full of puns and jokes, a lot of them language-based. I'm not sure how many of the jokes I got, but getting most Jiddish terms stemming from German, food jokes, some of the Black jokes, French references, linguistic extravaganzas, Greek classical drama and saga references and so on, my guess is I got maybe half? Fran Ross was amazingly smart and funny, and at some point I will read this again!
