Ok, yeah, this is pretty good. Solid suburban Gothic horror with a distinctly Catholic flavour. It's not yet entirely clear what this series will add to the genre but I'll give the next volume a punt to see where it's going. Good script and the art is deeply entwined in the story telling, they clearly know how to work well together. A somewhat scrappy style but it suits the tale.
A great start to a slow-paced horror comic. The story isn't anything that special compared to most other horror media, it's a parallel story on two protagonists that see visions of the black barn, some sort of evil entity that drives people to murder eachother. It's a simple premise, but the mysterious aspect of it is well executed and is good enough that I'm excited to keep reading to uncover it. Aside from the story, the art is great. The scribbly, messy artstyle complements the story very well.
I'm still not sure if I love it or not though. That'll depend on the next few volumes and how satisfying the reveal will be.
Great art, interesting story. I liked the geographic themes. I had a feeling when I picked it up off the shelf and I'm glad it turned out well.
