Autoboyography

This book is so cute! The dynamic between Tanner and Sebastian, Tanner and his parents, Tanner and Autumn are all very entertaining. The book does a really good job of making the conflict feel real and definitely high stakes, unlike the film version of Love, Simon where everything felt WAY too happy-go-lucky and not realistic.

I read this and couldn't help but think of Latter Days.

Very good read if you need something happy and gay in your life.

A perfect light, positive read for me at a bit of a stressful time to unwind. I think it helped that I kind of knew exactly what I was getting into, as it has all the things I usually dislike - one romance as the main plot and one that's "love at first sight" kind of. Only a few characters (though nice ones) to follow. Somewhat predictable plot, but that was a bonus this time.

It might seem light to me because none of the issues of the book are particularly relevant to me, maybe if some of it was closer to my experiences I'd feel different. But I do love that about a book, that it tells me about something I don't know about, even if in a through rose-tinted-glasses way.
